The first eGolf Tour tournament of 2025 is here with 9 players in the field this week with a mixture playing on the DP World, Hotel Planner and Asian Tour. The first round started at the challenging Yas Links with some slick greens and tricky pin positions saw 5 players break par with Richard Mansell of England and Aaron Cockerill of Canada shooting 68 and Michele Ortolani of Italy leading the way with a 67. Dom Foos of Germany who recently gained his Asian Tour card scored a respectable -2 taking 3rd place after round 1.
Round 2 took place at our home The Els Club in conjunction with the Friday’s Lions Den. Julien Brun of France shot the lowest scoring round of the day with a -7, 65 but with Rahm going making plenty of birdies again on day 2 scoring a 66 he took the title with a total of -9. Aaron Cockerill’s incredible consistency shone through with 2 consecutive rounds of 68 and finishing in 2nd place taking home 2700 points as he climbs the Order of Merit.
