After Round 1 Scott Henry was in second place with a solid -3 behind Detry who shot a spectacular -5 holing over 150ft of 1 putts on the 3 Lion’s Den holes at The Els Club (9,10,11). It’s always great to have Gary Stal of France with us too, who came in 3rd going into day 2 with a 70.
With 6 Professionals in the field this week including PGA Tour player Thomas Detry of Belgium there was some great golf on display but course conditions on the second round proved difficult for the players with only Paul Dunne of Ireland being the only other player with Detry to shoot combined rounds under par. Thomas Detry managed to stay at the top of the leaderboard after day 2 with a respectable -1 to keep him 3 shots ahead of Dunne.
